Bench Monday

Bench Monday, originally uploaded by Valerie Morrison.

Today is Bench Monday on Flickr. I’m not quite sure what that is, I’m supposed to be doing something on a bench, with a bench, to a bench? I hope I got it right. It fits in well with my Bench Monday schedule. Thanks for the idea weeks ago Superdewa! Btw, what’s happening on Tuesday, I got nothing.

    • Hey did you see that “Seinfeld” episode about a commercial for Dockers pants? Jerry broke up with his girlfriend because she liked the commercial and felt “the dialogue rang true.”

That’s immediately what I thought of when I read that comment.

But I do love those shoes.

no, cg. i checked every ounce of my brain and i can’t find that episode anywhere. i’m certain i’ve seen every seinfeld that aired and i’m feeling just a tad disappointed that i do not recall. oh well.

thanks girlfriend. i rarely wear these shoes (they’re yearsss old) and actually wore them to work just to drive in. i had black heels in my bag and not a thing on red. just didn’t feel like changing. i don’t care. people expect eccentric…

  1. I used to have a pair of red shoes similar to those except mine had a leather fringe above the toe box. I bought them in college with advice from my beloved roommate Tonya. I loved those shoes but they are gone.

I have no idea what I did with those, but they are no longer in my possession. Yours are cooler anyway.

darn we could have dressed alike one day. a leather fringe, eh? on the back of my shoes is a v shaped slither of red patent leather, but nothing else. man, look for them on the internet, i wanna see. šŸ™‚

      • Are you ready to be amazed and astounded? You have to remember I bought something *similar* to this in 1988. Also, it did not have that strip of leather tied in a bow. It had a metal strip across the top, presumably to hold the bitchin’ fringe in place.

And so I present a reasonable facsimile of Cardiogirl’s red shoes. And I did feel pretty darn clever when I wore them and hummed “(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes” by Mr. Elvis Costello.

holy smokes bat girl! who is the most awesomeness (is that a word, well it is today, jack) woman on the web in the morning?

          i can’t hear you.

sweep the leg! i’m almost sure i had a shoe or two with the fringe on top.

and score extra points for you if they were indeed aerosoles. i know women think aerosoles are for the elderly, but they are comfortable! comfort first, cuteness second. i have at least 3 pair of aerosoles. easy on my back.

          thanks girlfriend for the visual.

  2. You know, I think you’re my snappiest-dressing blog-friend. Wish I had your sense of style (& the desire to be more than a “jeans & t-shirts” kind of person.)

  3. Those shoes are the BOMB!!!!

And I have to agree with Lana, all the photos that I’ve even seen YOU in, your sense of clothing style is awesome. I loved that shot where you were wearing a business suit and tie!

    You GO, girl!

    Cool photo!

thanks ron. i’ve had them forever. just wore them to drive in really, didn’t feel like changing into my heels, but they make a nice contrast against the green bench. this was a rush shot as we had a closing at work and i left my freaking remote home.

Speak on it!
