i hate that this is what i woke up to this morning but there was a fire around the corner and down the street from my house. i have very sensitive hearing which means, i’m never asleep but in hibernation mode and can hear cotton balls fall on a carpet in canada. so i’m told or made fun of.
anyway, i heard the fire engines – not far from home – pull out of the garage and i thought they were going to keep going, but they kept coming and the noise increased. then i heard people talking down the street and one man said “the house is on fire, hello” in an almost sarcastic tone as if the firemen weren’t moving fast enough.
i know the camera phone photos are crappy but this is the view from upstairs. not sure if anyone was hurt, but i think everyone got out safely. i drove by later to look at the damage without staring too much. it was a two family home and looked as if the residents threw out some of their belongings in plastic bags on the front yard. i don’t know if they were trying to salvage their possessions or if they jumped to save their life.
can’t help be reminded of sweet brown and the escape she made when her home was on fire. i agree with her lively story: ain’t nobody got time for that. what a horrible way to start the week.
