day 245 – frijoles negros

black beans

i was looking for something  small to photograph for macro day and the only thing i could find was (expired) black beans. wait, don’t beans in a bag last forever.  well whatever the case, this is usually one of my go to proteins with red and green peppers thrown in to the mix. add some brown rice and broccoli and that’s dinner.

  1. Val, when I initially glanced at this photo in my feed reader, I thought these were black jelly beans and I started getting all excited because I LOVE black jelly beans!

But…I also LOVE black beans, as well. Also…PINTO beans. I’m a HUGE bean-lover.

    FAB macro shot, girl!

Yummy, I gotta try that because I love eating stuff like this. I can actually FEAST on just that and be totally happy.:)

Hope you had a nice and relaxing holiday today!

mmmm, ron, i LOVE black jelly beans. nobody likes them and i’m happy to eat them. yeah beans are good. my body will have a fit if i don’t give it enough protein. i’m tired and my eyes do a lot of rolling around in my head. not carbs, but protein.

yep i can eat just beans too, but try to balance them out with something else. oh yeah, i throw in chopped garlic too. i love garlic.

oh. the soaking kills me, but i refuse to buy beans or anything in a can. at least when i was tracking my foods, now i’m just not used to it and will soak the darn beans. it takes a long time and i hate it, but i do it.

Speak on it!
